Professional Learning Workshops
Our workshops are highly engaging and cater to educators of all experience levels. Feedback from our attendees is always overwhelmingly positive – 96% of respondents found the workshops useful or extremely useful, and 92% would be likely or extremely likely to recommend the workshops to others. Workshop: Data Collection, Analysis, and Visualisation
In this 1-day workshop, you will learn the pitfalls of data collection, and how to analyse a dataset and use it to create an effective and compelling visualisation. You will leave with all the resources you need to do Data Science in your classroom, including suggested datasets.
This was a great opportunity to consider how to use data in a learning area agnostic way, and examine ways of introducing it to students who may have had little exposure to real world data sets in all their messy and sometimes abstruse glory.

Linda is such a font of knowledge but she is so approachable in how she delivers the content.
From projects that solve problems in the local community, to data exploration and communication projects on global issues, Dr McIver can help your school develop engaging projects that capture your students’ enthusiasm and imagination, giving them a sense of purpose and fulfilment, while developing vital STEM skills.
We have created projects on building indigenous language awareness, solving schoolyard litter problems, local traffic, family, school, and community carbon emissions, access to local sporting facilities, income inequality, whale, turtle, and dugong conservation, and much, much more.
